Textbook Opt-Out Policy
If a student desires not to purchase Required Course Materials for Non-Integrated Courses through Rasmussen University, then the student may opt-out of automatic charging and billing for any or all Required Course Materials for Non-Integrated Courses at the flat cost, and then must purchase the Required Course Materials through another source such as Amazon. Students who opt-out of purchasing Required Course Materials for Non-Integrated Courses are advised that access to digital Required Course Materials via a link within a course will be removed. Students can opt-out by completing the textbook opt-out form available through the student portal on a quarterly basis by the end of the class drop/add period for each quarter, as defined in the Rasmussen University Course Catalog, to be effectuated during that Term. If a student opts-out after being automatically charged for the Required Course Materials, but before the end of the class drop/add period, then Rasmussen University will credit the charged costs for Required Course Materials.
Students enrolled in Integrated Courses do not have the option to opt-out of purchasing Required Course Materials from the University because the use of the integrated digital learning platform does not make the Required Course Materials available in this format from sources other than the University. Any requests to opt-out of purchasing Required Course Materials for Integrated Courses through the University will be denied.
A list of Required Course Materials for each course and whether a student can opt-out of purchasing the Required Course Materials through the University based on the use of an integrated digital learning platform is available in the student portal. This list is published quarterly and is subject to change throughout a student’s enrollment.
